Feh
The Pavilion, a Myrtle Beach landmark, has closed and will soon be razed by its asshole owner, Burroughs and Chapin, the 500 pound gorilla company that practically runs Myrtle Beach and is trying to transform it from an endearing modestly tacky beach town to a grotesquely pseudo-classy, monstrously tacky resort. A place for people with lots of money but zero taste.
Yet more condo towers, like we need them, and some "attraction" yet to be named (but which I guarantee you will be shitty) will replace the Pavilion.
Imagine Miami without the good-looking people, sizzle, and tropical foliage, but with the overdevelopment, traffic, and sprawl, and you have some idea of where B&C is taking us.
Nice going, B&C, and nice going, Myrtle Beach, for letting it happen.
